Beginner:
Learn the basic building blocks of technique and choreography. Move to continuing beginner once these moves are mastered.
Intermediate & Advanced
Wednesday's 6:30 - 7:30pm -
Master basic technique and add to a
repertoire of moves. Build on skills learned in
previous classes. Learn layering and choreographies.
Must have
beginner class experience and/or instructor's
consent.
Performance
Work on advanced moves and choreography for a busy schedule of performances. Original group and solo choreographies from students encouraged.
Director's invitation only.

No special costuming or clothing is required for class; however, no skirts or jeans please. I need to be able to see your legs
and jeans restrict your movement. A bare midriff is not necessary. Hip wraps are provided for beginning students. We dance barefoot (optional if you're physically unable to do so).
As a teacher, I like to work on technique
during the first part of class which involves drilling with the latter part of class focusing on choreography.
Like every other style of dance, belly dancing takes
practice and dedication. Classes are always full of laughter and fun. Those
who are looking for a new and fun way to exercise will find belly dancing may be
just what you are looking for as it increases flexibility and stamina.
Belly dance is for all women, regardless of age, shape, or size! My students have ranged from 6 years of age to 70+ years of age with several mother/daughter participants. Belly dancing helps to connect women with their bodies and with
each other. I find that the women in my classes form a bond with each other
that they do not find anywhere else.
